In the hive, all the "worker" Bees are Female

Worker Bees only live for around 6 weeks.
They just wear themselves out and their wings become ragged and split.

Male bees are called DRONES.
In the winter months the female worker bees throw the male Drones out of the hive. There are never many drones in a colony and they only look after the Queen. Drones do not sting as worker bees would.

There are over 20,000 known species of Bees.
Only a small fraction of those species are Honey Bees, belonging to the genus Apis and create their hives using wax.

Each bee presumes a distinct role in the upkeep of a hive
Some are nursery bees, others are guard bees, and there are many foraging bees.

Honey has long been used by humas as a multi-purpose disinfectant for cuts and abrasions.
It slowly converts to a mild peroxide bleach on contact with air and water. Hence Honey was used by allied medics in World War 2 as a cheap and safe anti-bacterial agent to help cleanse soldiers' wounds sustained in battle.

If the bees are foraging on dark-coloured flowers then the honey may be a little darker, hence the products will vary in colour; and the same for the lighter honey that comes from the pollen of light-coloured flowers.
